Dee Ford (* 19th March 1991 in Odenville , Alabama ) is an American American football poker players on the position of Outside linebackers in the National Football League (NFL). In the 2014 NFL Draft , he was selected in the first round by the Kansas City Chiefs . He has been under contract with the San Francisco 49ers since 2019 .

college

Ford attended Auburn University for five years, from 2009 to 2013, and played for their football team, the Auburn Tigers. Ford won the Southeastern Conference Championship Game twice with the Auburn Tigers . Especially in his second title with the Tigers, in his last year at college, Ford was able to convince with his performances. In 12 games, Ford reached 29 tackles , half of which brought space gain for his team. He also got 10.5 sacks and two forced fumbles .

NFL

Kansas City Chiefs

Ford was selected as the 23rd player in the 1st round by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2014 NFL Draft . Ford was brought in by the Chiefs as a player on the defensive end , but retrained as a linebacker in his second NFL year . In his rookie season, Ford was only allowed to play in a few snaps , so he only managed 8 tackles and 1.5 sacks. Ford's playing time increased in his second year in the NFL, the 2015 season, but his breakthrough with the Chiefs came in his third professional season. In 2016 , Ford started 14 of 15 games. He got 38 tackles and strong 10.0 sacks. With the 10 Sacks, Ford was the NFL's 15th best player after Sacks in the 2016 season and the best player on his team.

In the 2017 season he was only used in six games due to injuries. Ford had his best season to date in 2018, when he made it into the AFC Championship Game with the Chiefs . In week 8, he got three sacks in one game against the Denver Broncos . On December 18, 2018, Ford was nominated for the Pro Bowl for the first time . He was a starter in all 16 games of the regular season and recorded 13.0 sacks and seven forced fumbles. On March 4, 2019, the Chiefs occupied Ford, whose contract expired after the season, with the franchise day .

San Francisco 49ers

On March 12, 2019, the Chiefs agreed to hand Ford over to the San Francisco 49ers for a second round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft .
