The Hohenlohe deanery is one of 25 deaneries in the Roman Catholic diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart . The seat of the Dean's Office and the office is in Künzelsau .

history

In 1818 several parishes of the deaneries Krautheim and Buchheim, which had previously belonged to the diocese of Würzburg, were combined to form the deanery Amrichshausen , which was subordinate to the newly established diocese Rottenburg. In 1949 some parishes were transferred to the newly founded dean's office in Schwäbisch Hall. In 1961 the Amrichshausen deanery became the Künzelsau deanery , without the structure changing. In 2001 the name changed again, now to the Hohenlohe Dean's Office .

The deanery extends over the predominantly Protestant area of the Hohenlohe district . Of the total population of the district, 27% are Catholics, of whom an average of 15.2% attend Sunday services. Only in four other deaneries in the diocese is the attendance rate higher. The dean's office is managed by the dean's council , which consists of the dean, his deputy, the managing director (advisory), the accounting officer (advisory), representatives from all pastoral care units and representatives from various associations. The Dean's Council is represented by its Executive Committee , which carries out ongoing tasks. The full-time pastoral workers meet monthly in the deanery conference for exchange.
