The Ehingen-Ulm deanery is one of 25 deaneries in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart and consists of 21 pastoral care units with 89 parishes. The parishes in the previous Catholic deaneries Ehingen and Ulm were merged by Bishop Gebhard Fürst into the deanery Ehingen-Ulm with effect from January 1, 2008. The Dean's office is in Ulm . The deanery area includes the urban district of Ulm and large parts of the Alb-Danube district . Smaller areas of the district such as Amstetten and its districts fall under the jurisdiction of the Geislingen pastoral care unit in the neighboring Göppingen-Geislingen deanery .

tasks

As the "middle level" between the diocese and parishes, the dean's office performs three tasks: It supports the parishes of the dean's office in their pastoral mandate, represents the Catholic Church in regional social and cultural issues and communicates the concerns of the bishop.
