Ďurďošík (Hungarian Györgyi or Gyürgyi ) is a municipality in the east of Slovakia with 652 inhabitants (December 31, 2019) that the okolie Kosice Okres , part of Košický kraj heard.
geography
The municipality is located in the eastern part of the Košická kotlina basin in the Trsťanka valley , which flows into the Oľšava downstream of the village . The center of the village is at an altitude of 233 m nm and is 15 kilometers from Košice .
Neighboring municipalities are Trsťany in the north, Bidovce in the east, Olšovany in the south, Košické Oľšany in the southwest and Rozhanovce in the west.
history
Ďurďošík was first mentioned in writing in 1330 as Gyrgy . In 1427 the village was owned by the Perényi family and, according to a tax register, had 12 portals . In 1598 there were seven houses, at the beginning of the 18th century the village was deserted and in 1740 there were only two houses. In 1828 there were 38 houses and 271 residents who were mainly employed as farmers, but also as wheel makers, weavers and workers in the local sawmill.
Until 1918/1919, the place in Abaúj-Torna County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census lived in Ďurďošík 406 inhabitants, of which 387 Slovaks as well as one Magyar , Rome and Czech . 16 residents did not provide any information on ethnicity .
298 residents committed to the Roman Catholic Church, 33 residents to the Evangelical Church AB, 10 residents to the Greek Catholic Church, four residents to the Reformed Church and two residents each to the Evangelical Methodist Church and the Orthodox Church; one resident professed a different denomination. 35 residents had no denomination and the denomination of 21 residents was not determined.
