history
The place arose in the 13th century on royal land and was then still connected to the neighboring town of Ploské ( mentioned as Lopuspotok in 1270 ). In 1270 the Hungarian king donated the land of Ploské to Magister Reynold , which was south of the Kráľovský creek and, unlike the main town (which belonged to the Sáros County ), was in the Abaúj County at that time. To distinguish the place in the Abaúj County was called Kyslapuspatak (1388) or Kys-Lapispatak (1427).
In the early 15th century the place became part of the Rozhanovce estate , and in 1427 a total of 23 porta were recorded. In 1488 the current name appears in the Hungarian form Kiralynepy . However, in the 16th, 17th and early 18th centuries there was a decline in population (for example there were only six portals left in 1553), and the village was only able to grow again after the end of the Rákóczi uprising and a cholera epidemic. In 1828 there were 65 houses and 482 inhabitants. Until the 19th century the village belonged to the Barkóczy family .
Until 1918/1919, the place in Abaúj-Torna County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.
