Kráľovce-Krnišov is a municipality in the center of Slovakia with 149 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019), which is located in Okres Krupina , a district of Banskobystrický kraj .

geography

The community is located on the southeastern edge of the Schemnitz Mountains on a left tributary of the Štiavnica . The center of the village is at an altitude of 339  m nm and is 13 kilometers from Krupina (road distance).

Neighboring municipalities are Žibritov in the north, Krupina in the east, Devičie in the southeast, Hontianske Nemce in the south and Prenčov in the west.

history

The present municipality was created in 1964 through the merger of Kráľovce (Hungarian Hontkirályfalva - until 1907 Királyfalu ) and Krnišov (Hungarian Kormosó ).

Kráľovce was first mentioned in writing in 1329 as Keralyffya and first belonged to the royal estate, later to the dominion of the Čabraď castle . In the 19th century the village was owned by families like Coburg , Teleki and Radványi . In 1828 there were 44 houses and 264 residents who were employed as farmers.

Krnišov was first mentioned in writing as Kurumsou in 1266 and at that time belonged to the Hont-Pazmány family . In the 14th century it was under the dominion of the Litava Castle , in the 16th century it was owned by István Werbőczy, the then Palatine and Supreme Judge of Hungary, after that the village was part of the Čabraď Castle estate and finally in the 19th century Coburg family . In 1558 there were 25 subordinate settlements here, in 1715 already 49. In 1828 there were 62 houses and 382 farmers who were employed as shepherds, farmers and winemakers in neighboring Krupina. There was a steam saw in the Dora settlement at the end of the 19th century.

Until 1918, the places in Hont County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, Kráľovce-Krnišov had 187 inhabitants, including 171 Slovaks , six Roma and one Czech . Nine residents did not provide any information on ethnicity.

89 residents committed themselves to the Roman Catholic Church, 85 residents to the Evangelical Church AB and one resident each to the Seventh-day Adventists and the Evangelical Methodist Church; one resident professed a different denomination. Five residents were non-denominational and the denomination was not determined for five residents.
