Rykynčice (German Ruckinschitz , Hungarian Rakonca ) is a municipality in the center of Slovakia with 268 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019), which is located in Okres Krupina , a district of Banskobystrický kraj .
geography
The village is located on the western side of the Krupinská planina highlands in the Krupinica valley . The town center is at an altitude of 160 m nm and is 16 kilometers from Šahy and 24 kilometers from Krupina .
Neighboring municipalities are Medovarce in the north, Drienovo in the east, Plášťovce in the south and Hontianske Tesáre in the west.
history
Today's community was created in 1964 through the merger of Dolné Rykynčice (German Unterruckinschitz , Hungarian Alsórakonca ) and Horné Rykynčice (German Oberruckinschitz , Hungarian Felsőrakonca ).
Dolné Rykynčice was first mentioned in writing in 1279 as Rakucha and was then owned by the local Rakonczay family . Later landlords came from the Palásthy dynasty , the Buda provost and from the monastery in Bzovík (in the 16th century). In 1715 the village had a mill, vineyards and 81 households; In 1828 there were 107 houses and 644 inhabitants, whose main sources of income were agriculture, fruit growing and viticulture.
Horné Rykynčice was first mentioned in writing in 1327 as Felsewrakaucha . The village was owned by the Palásthy family until the 18th century , after which the Koháry and Coburg families owned goods in the village. In 1715 the village had 22 households, in 1828 there were 58 houses and 350 inhabitants.
Until 1918, the places in Hont County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, 313 inhabitants lived in Rykynčice, of which 296 were Slovaks and 1 each was Magyar and Rome. 15 residents did not provide any information on ethnicity. 260 residents committed themselves to the Roman Catholic Church, 26 residents to the Evangelical Church AB and 3 residents to the Greek Catholic Church. 12 residents had no denomination and the denomination of 12 residents was not determined.
