Uňatín (Hungarian Unyad - until 1892 Unyatin ) is a municipality in the center of Slovakia with 184 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019), which is located in the Okres Krupina , a district of the Banskobystrický kraj .

geography

The municipality is located in the Krupinská planina highlands in the valley of the Čekovský creek in the Krupinica catchment area . The town center is at an altitude of 304  m nm and is 10 kilometers away from Krupina (road distance).

Neighboring communities are Bzovík in the north and east, Horný Badín and Dolný Badín in the south-east, Selce and Medovarce in the south, Domaníky and Hontianske Nemce in the south-west and Devičie in the west.

history

Uňatín was first mentioned in writing in 1311 as Wnetten and was built on the estate of the Hont dynasty, later it was part of the territory of the Bzovík provost. Later the village was owned by the Balassa and Fánchy families . In 1828 there were 51 houses and 305 inhabitants who were employed as farmers and winemakers.

Until 1918 the place in Hont County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia. In 1927 the whole place burned down.

According to the 2011 census, there were 184 inhabitants in Uňatín, 178 Slovaks and one Czech . Five residents gave no information about their ethnicity.

177 residents supported the Roman Catholic Church and two residents supported the Evangelical Church AB. Two residents were non-denominational and three residents had no denomination.
