Domaníky (Hungarian Dömeháza - until 1892 Domanyik ) is a municipality in the center of Slovakia with 190 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019), which is located in Okres Krupina , a district of Banskobystrický kraj .
geography
The municipality is located in the valley of the Štiavnica on the edge of the Krupinská planina . The municipality itself is hilly, with oak forests on the steep slopes. The town center is at an altitude of 197 m nm and is 13 kilometers from Krupina (road distance).
Neighboring municipalities are Hontianske Nemce in the north, Uňatín in the east, Medovarce in the south, Hontianske Tesáre in the southwest and Sebechleby in the west.
history
In the municipality of Domaníky there was an urn field of the Lusatian culture from the Late Bronze Age.
The place itself was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1135 as Dominyk , other historical names include Also Domanik (1247), Domonig (1258), Damanyk Tout dicta (1285), Domungy (1291), Thoutdamanyk and Domanik (1331), Nemeth Domanik Theuthonicalis (1382) and Damanik (1808). In the 14th century the village was under the dominion of Litava Castle , later it was owned by various landlords, such as Foglár in the 18th century. In 1715 seven households lived in the village, in 1828 there were 33 houses and 200 inhabitants who were employed as farmers and winemakers.
Until 1918 the place in Hont County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, Domaníky had 193 residents, including 171 Slovaks , four Roma and one Ukrainian . 17 residents did not provide any information on ethnicity.
173 residents committed to the Roman Catholic Church, three residents to the Evangelical Church AB and one resident to the Greek Catholic Church. One resident was non-denominational and the denomination was not determined for 15 residents.

The 1st order road 66 ( E 77 ) between Šahy and Zvolen passes through Domaníky . The place also has a stop on the Zvolen – Čata railway line , but it has not been used regularly since 2003.
