Košická Belá (German Bella , Hungarian Kassa Béla - until 1873 Béla is a municipality in) east of Slovakia with 978 inhabitants (December 31, 2019) near the town of Košice in the eastern part of the Slovak Ore Mountains .
The place was first mentioned in writing in 1397 as Villa Johannis , and in 1580 also in German Hansdorff . It includes the places Košické Hámre (incorporated in 1967; German [Kaschauer] Hammer , Hungarian Kassahámor ), Malý Folkmar (incorporated into Košické Hámre in 1944; German Kleinfolkmar , Hungarian Kissolymár ) and Ružín (incorporated in 1969), but these places are included during the flooding of the reservoir Ružín (in 1969, Slovak Vodná nádrž Ružín ) largely submerged.
The name of the place is derived from the Belá stream flowing through it .
