The center of the village is at an altitude of 214  m nm and is 21 kilometers from Moldava nad Bodvou and 23 kilometers from Košice .

history

Today's municipality was created in 1964 through the merger of the previously independent villages Perín (Hungarian Perény ) and Chym (Hungarian Hím ). In 1991 Vyšný Lánec (Hungarian Felsőlánc ) was added; all these places are now parts of the community.

Perín was first mentioned in writing in 1220 and until the beginning of the 17th century belonged to the Perényi family, which was important in the Middle Ages . At that time the area was settled by invited Germans, but has not been mentioned since the end of the Middle Ages. In 1427 there were 27 portals . In 1828 there are 138 houses and 1,097 inhabitants.

Chym was first mentioned in writing in 1294 and in 1828 it had 53 houses and 420 inhabitants.

Until 1918, all of the Abaúj-Torna County and mostly Hungarian-speaking places belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia . Due to the First Vienna Arbitration Award , they were again in Hungary from 1938 to 1945.

After the Second World War there was a population exchange between Czechoslovakia and Hungary, with some Hungarian families being deported to Hungary and Hungarian Slovaks coming to Perin-Chym instead.
