history
The present commune was founded in 1954 when it was spun off from the commune of Ploské . It developed from a new farm settlement , which 42 families from the village Pohronská Polhora near Brezno , which burned down in 1942 , set up here, as the burned-out village was overpopulated and the then government of the Slovak State offered to move. Other residents came from the neighboring towns of Ploské and Šarišské Bohdanovce . Shortly after the spin-off, the buildings of the culture house and the primary school were built in 1954–56. The Roman Catholic Church was built between 1991-1993 and consecrated in 1993.
