The city of Delhi ( Chinese  德令哈 市 , Pinyin Délìnghā Shì ; Mongolian Дэлхий Delchii ; Tibetan གཏེར་ ལེན་ ཁ་ ) is an independent city in the Chinese province of Qinghai . It is located on the northeast edge of the Qaidam Basin and at the southern foot of the Zongwulong Shan 宗 务 隆 山 mountain range . Delhi, which consists of the districts Hexi ( 河西 ) and Hedong ( 河东 ) separated by the Bayin River , belongs to the Haixi Autonomous District of the Mongols and Tibetans , of which it is the administrative seat. The district government is located in Hedong, which is 2980 m above sea level. M. lies. In 1999 the city of Delhi had 56,501 inhabitants.
