Delphyne Burlet, who was married to the Franco-German biathlete Andreas Heymann , began biathlon in 1991 . The former athlete who lives in Hotonnes started for Douanes SC Bellegarde . She made her World Cup debut in Fagernes in 1992 and immediately came second in the sprint. She achieved this placement again at a mass start in 2001 in Antholz , but was never able to win an individual race. However, she was able to win with the 2002 season in Antholz. In 1992/93 she was sixth in the overall World Cup, eleventh in 2000/01 and thirteenth in 1991/92.
In 1992 in Albertville , 1994 in Lillehammer and 2002 in Salt Lake City , Burlet took part in the Olympic Games. In 1992 she was sixth in the individual and ninth in the sprint, in 1994 she won the bronze medal with the relay. Between 1993 and 2001 she took part in several world championships . Seven times she was placed in the top ten, but she never achieved a better placement than fifth. With the relay and in the team she was more successful and won the team title in 1993 in Borowez together with Nathalie Beausire , Anne Briand and Corinne Niogret . In the line-up of Niogret, Véronique Claudel , Burlet and Briand, she won silver with the relay at the same event. She secured another relay medal in 1999 together with Florence Baverel , Christelle Gros and Niogret in Kontiolahti as third. Burlet was the starting runner in this race, which was postponed several times due to the extreme cold.
