Dennis Darling (born May 6, 1975 in Nassau ) is a former Bahamian sprinter who specialized in the 400-meter run .

With the Bahamian 4-by-400-meter relay , he finished seventh at the 1996 Olympic Games . At the World Athletics Championships in Athens in 1997 , he started over 400 m, but did not get beyond the preliminary round. He also ran the 4 x 100 meter relay in the first qualifying round with a time of 39.09 s, a national record. However, the season was later eliminated in the semifinals.

He celebrated the greatest success of his career at the 2003 World Athletics Championships in Paris by winning the bronze medal in the 4 x 400 meter relay. Originally, Darling, along with Avard Moncur , Nathaniel McKinney and Chris Brown, finished fourth behind the seasons of the United States , France and Jamaica in 3: 00.53 min . After the subsequent disqualification of the US relay because of a doping offense by their runner Calvin Harrison, the Bahamian team moved up to third place in the ranking.

At the IAAF World Indoor Championships in 2004 in Budapest , Darling was fifth with the relay. He was also a member of the Bahamian 4-by-400-meter relay, which finished sixth at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, but was only used in the qualifying round.

Dennis Darling had a competition weight of 77 kg with a height of 1.83 kg. After his active career, he took up a job as a track and field trainer at the University of Texas-Pan American . His wife Tonique Williams-Darling and his cousin Frank Rutherford were also successful track and field athletes. His younger brother Devard Darling is a wide receiver in the NFL .
