Dennis Patrick O'Neil

Dennis Patrick O'Neil (born January 16, 1940 in Freemont , Nebraska , USA ; † October 17, 2003 in Grand Terrace , California , USA) was auxiliary bishop in the diocese of San Bernardino .

Life

Dennis Patrick O'Neil received on 30 April 1966, the sacrament of the priesthood by the Archbishop of Los Angeles , James Francis Cardinal McIntyre . From then on, O'Neil worked as a priest in Los Angeles for 34 years , where he looked after the parish of St. Thomas in the Pico-Union district .

On 16 January 2001 it appointed Pope John Paul II. To the titular of Macon and auxiliary bishop in San Bernardino. The Bishop of San Bernardino, Gerald Richard Barnes , ordained him episcopal on March 27 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Gabino Zavala , auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, and the Bishop of Stockton , Stephen Edward Blaire .

O'Neil died of a heart attack on October 17, 2003 at Grand Terrace, aged 63.
