Deogarh (also Debagarh ) is the capital of the district of the same name in the northwest of the Indian state of Odisha .
Deogarh is 80 km south of Rourkela in the Eastern Ghats . The Brahmani River flows south 25 km east of the city. The national highway NH 200 ( Talcher - Jharsuguda ) runs through the city. A main road leads from Bhawanipatna to Raipur , 220 km northwest .
Deogarh has the status of a municipality as a city . The city is divided into 11 wards . In the 2011 census, the population was 22,390.
