The Departamento Famaillá is located in the center of the Provínz Tucumán in north-west Argentina and is one of 17 administrative units (Departamentos) in the province. It is bordered by the Lules department to the north, the Leales department to the east, the Monteros department to the south and the Tafí del Valle department to the west . The capital and urban center of the department is the city of the same name, Famaillá .
