The department of Simoca is located in the southeast of the province of Tucumán in northwest Argentina and is one of 17 administrative units in the province. It borders on the Leales Department in the north, the Province of Santiago del Estero in the east, the Graneros Department in the south and the Río Chico , Chicligasta and Monteros departments in the west . The capital of the department is the city of the same name, Simoca .
