The Iriondo Department is located in the southern center of the Santa Fe Province in central Argentina and is one of 19 administrative units in the province.
It is bordered by the Department of San Jerónimo to the north, by the Department of San Lorenzo to the east and southeast , by the Department of Caseros to the south and by the Department of Belgrano to the west .
The capital of the department of San Lorenzo (Santa Fe) is Cañada de Gómez .
