Nina Lemesch ( Ukrainian Ніна Лемеш ; born May 31, 1973 in Chernihiv ) is a former Ukrainian biathlete .

Nina Lemesch has been involved in biathlon since 1991. She is trained by Mykola Zots. The PE teacher has a daughter. Lemesch made his debut in Bad Gastein in 1994 in the Biathlon World Cup and was 19th in an individual. It was not until a sprint race in Oberhof in 1997 that she finished eighth in the top ten for the first time. Shortly thereafter, she won a world cup race for the first time with the Ukrainian relay in Nagano . After a rather moderate season 1997/98 she surprisingly won the last pre-Olympic sprint race in Antholz . It should be her only win in a single race. The 1998/99 season would be her best. She was able to place very well several times and finished the season with a 17th place in the overall World Cup. After that, she was able to place sixth in the top 10 in Lake Placid in 2001 . After the second World Cup of the 2003/04 season, she ended her season prematurely because of a pregnancy. A year later she started again in the European Cup and shortly afterwards in the World Cup again. But she could never get anywhere near the top of the world again.

In 1995 Lemesch first took part in the biathlon world championships in Antholz . With the season she was fifth here. Two years later in Osrblie , Lemesch was sprint eighth. After a bad 1998 World Cup in Pokljuka , things went better again in Kontiolahti in 1999 . In the sprint she was 16th, in the pursuit 19th and with the relay she also ran a fifth place. The second half of the world championships of the year, which was held at Holmenkollen in Oslo for weather reasons , also went no less well. She finished eleventh in the mass start. A year later she was able to win a medal for the first time with the bronze medal in the same position with the relay, which in addition to her also Alena Subrylawa , Olena Petrowa and Tetjana Wodopjanowa belonged. A year later she was able to repeat this result in Pokljuka with the same season. There was also a 17th place in the sprint and an 18th in the pursuit. Due to her pregnancy break, she did not appear again until three years later, in 2004 in Oberhof , at a world championship. Here, as in all other world championships up to 2007 in Antholz, apart from three seventh places with the relay, she could not show any results worth mentioning.

Apart from 2003, Lemesch also took part in all European championships from 2001 to 2007. In 2002 she won bronze with the relay in Kontiolahti , and in 2005 silver in Novosibirsk . She also started in 1998 in Osrblie at the World Championships in summer biathlon and won silver in sprint and pursuit.

Lemesch's first Olympic Games were the 1998 Nagano competitions. Here she was used in singles, where she reached 21st place. Four years later in Salt Lake City , her best result was a tenth place with the relay. The 2006 Games of Turin went sporty standard, again was her best finish - an eleventh place - in the relay.
