Derek Damon (born November 12, 1980 in Bangor , Maine ) is a former American ice hockey player who was last under contract with the Heilbronner Falken in the DEL2 .
Career
Derek Damon began his career as a hockey player in the team of the University of Maine , for which he was active in the game operations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association from 2002 to 2006 , before making his professional ice hockey debut for the Lowell Lock towards the end of the 2005/06 season Monsters from the American Hockey League existed. The following two seasons ran the attacker for the Florida Everblades from the ECHL and in the 2007/08 season in 15 games for the AHL team Albany River Rats . Damon then moved to Europe for the first time, where he received a contract with Ässät Pori from the Finnish SM-liiga , before he was signed by the Kassel Huskies from the DEL in summer 2009 . For the 2010/11 season he moved to EC VSV for three seasons . After his contract expired, he moved to Switzerland for HC Thurgau . There he was the top scorer and the best assists in the league in the 2013/14 season and extended his contract, running up as team captain in 2015/16.
In 2016 he signed a contract with SønderjyskE Ishockey in Denmark's highest league, the Metal Ligaen .
After two years in Denmark, he moved to the DEL2 to the Heilbronner Falken in 2018 , where he was active until the end of the 2019/20 season, which was canceled prematurely.
