Martin Heider (born August 17, 1986 in Opava , Czechoslovakia ) is a German - Czech ice hockey player who has been under contract with EHC Bayreuth in the DEL2 since June 2016 .

Career

Martin Heider began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown with HC Slezan Opava , in whose junior division he was active until 2003. The attacker then moved to HC Havířov , for whose first team he made his professional ice hockey debut in the 2004/05 season, when he was 14 times in the first division , the second Czech division, on the ice. After four years in Havířov, the Czech moved to SERC Wild Wings in the summer of 2007 , for which he played a total of 72 games in the 2nd Bundesliga in the following two seasons . The left-handed shooter scored 20 points , including eight goals, before he was committed to the DEL by Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg before the 2009/10 season .

With the Grizzlies he received a trial contract that was not renewed after 17 games. In January 2010 he was given a contract until the end of the season by EV Ravensburg due to injury losses. In August 2010 he received a trial contract with the Dresdner Eislöwen , which was extended before the start of the season. In the summer of 2011 he tried to get a contract for the extra league through a trial training at HC České Budějovice , but got no such offer. Therefore, Heider stayed in Dresden and was used as a defender in the following season.
