Deoxyadenosine , more precisely 2'-deoxyadenosine, is a naturally occurring, colorless and odorless chemical compound . Deoxyadenosine is one of the four nucleoside building blocks that make up DNA , and is abbreviated as dA . It consists of the nucleobase adenine and the sugar deoxyribose . The analog with ribose is adenosine .

Deoxyadenosine forms a base pair with deoxythymidine .
