Detective Conan - The Sunflowers of Inferno ( Japanese 名 探 偵 コ ナ ン 業 火 の 向日葵 , Meitantei Konan: Gōka no Himawari ) is the 19th film for the manga and anime series Detective Conan from 2015. It started on April 18, 2015 in Japanese Cinemas. The film was released in German on September 30, 2016 by Kazé on DVD and Blu-ray Disc.

action

One of the paintings by the painter Vincent van Gogh , namely The Sunflowers , is to be auctioned in an action house in New York. It is said to be the painting that was once destroyed in Ashiya .

Jirokichi Suzuki (Sonoko's uncle) is bidding for the most with a large sum and can purchase the painting for his exhibition with all seven "sunflower pictures". Since the Kaito Kid signs up, Mr. Suzuki strengthens his security team with more people, one of whom is Kogoro Mori. On the flight to Japan the painting is first stolen by Kaito Kid before Conan can get it back.

The exhibition can take place initially, but cannot take place as planned. It is true that Kaito Kid is held responsible for an attack on the aircraft by bringing the "sunflower pictures" to Japan and for a set fire in the newly opened museum. But Conan doesn't think Kid has changed that much. Little does Conan know that it has something to do with the Kaito Kids' assistant, Konosuke Jii.

A new kid riddle shows da Vinci's painting " The Last Supper " and Conan suspects that there must be a Judas in the ranks of the seven samurai.

background

Vincent van Gogh painted the sunflower pictures in Arles in 1888 to attach them to his guest room in the yellow house to please his guest Paul Gauguin . In January 1889 van Gogh painted further pictures in this series.

Van Gogh dealt with Japanese art for the first time as early as 1887. Through the art of Utagawa Hiroshige and the Japanese woodblock prints ( Ukiyo-e ), van Gogh shaped Japonism in Europe. The idea of bringing the "sunflower pictures" to Japan is therefore not absurd.

The painting Five Sunflowers, which he painted in August 1888, was destroyed by fire in Japan (in Ashiya ) during the Second World War . Here it is represented as existing again.

Mr. Suzuki calls his team - the seven samurai. A reference to the Seven Samurai .
