Detective Conan - The Phantom of Baker Street ( Japanese 名 探 偵 コ ナ ン ベ イ カ ー 街 の 亡 霊 Meitantei Konan: Beikā-gai no Bōrei ) is the sixth film in the anime Detective Conan from 2002. In Germany, the film was released on DVD in 2008 by Kazé Anime . The German premiere took place on January 17 and 18, 2011 as a two-parter on RTL II .

The film begins with a report about a child named Hiroki Sawada, who was kidnapped by Thomas Schindler, a descendant of the serial killer Jack the Ripper and the "tsar of the IT industry". Hiroka made a DNA search program for him and thus a computer brain. Hiroki commits suicide after Schindler keeps locking him up.

A new video game called “Cocoon” by the Schindler Company is presented in Beika Town Hall. Conan, the Mōris and the Detective Boys are present at the presentation of this virtual reality game. The test persons mainly include children from different walks of life and the Detective Boys and Ran also have the opportunity to participate. But when the game begins, the developer of "Cocoon" is found murdered and an artificial intelligence called "Noah's Ark" takes over the game, which now becomes a deadly game. “Noah's Ark” wants to change Japanese society in a radical way. Conan now has to win the game set in Victorian London and catch Jack the Ripper with the help of Sherlock Holmes . At the same time outside of the game, Conan's father tries to solve the murder.

The film was directed by Kenji Kodama at TMS Entertainment . The script was written by Hisashi Nozawa and the character design was created by Masatomo Sudō . The artistic direction was Yukihiro Shibutani . The 3D effects were created under the direction of Hiroaki Matsuura .

The film was released in Japanese cinemas on April 20, 2002. In Germany the film was released on DVD in 2008 by Kazé Anime . The German premiere took place on January 17 and 18, 2011 as a two-parter on RTL II . In addition, the anime has been translated into English, Korean, Spanish, Italian, and Chinese.
