Detlef Schößler (born October 3, 1962 in Magdeburg ) is a former soccer player and today's coach . In the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football , he played for 1. FC Magdeburg and Dynamo Dresden . The defender was also active in the 1st Bundesliga for Dresden . After his playing career, in which Schößler also made it into the GDR national team , he trained in the men's and junior division in Central Germany and in Lusatia.
Athletic career
Club and association stations
In the autumn of 1970 Schößler began his footballing career at 1. FC Magdeburg, where Heinz Brauer was his first trainer. For FCM, the football focus in the Magdeburg district , he played 169 times in the GDR Oberliga, 25 times in the FDGB Cup and six times in the European Cup . In the summer of 1989 he moved to Dynamo Dresden. After two years in the East German upper house for the black and yellow, in which Schößler played 37 out of 52 possible point games, the Dresdeners were able to qualify for the Bundesliga, in which Schößler made 113 Bundesliga appearances within four years. After Matthias Maucksch, he is second in the record list of all Dresden Bundesliga players .
As a 32-year-old, "Kurti", his nickname based on his father, moved to the second division club VfB Leipzig . Schößler played 68 times for the Saxons in the 2nd Bundesliga. He ended his playing career at SV 1919 Grimma in 2001.
Selection bets
From February 1986 Detlef Schößler completed 18 missions in the GDR national team . The defender, who also took part in the last GDR international match in late summer 1990 , was unable to qualify for a World Cup or European Championship finals .
Since only his 13th A international match in October 1988 was a World Cup match as part of the qualification for the 1990 tournament in Italy , he remained eligible for the East German Olympic team in previous years . In the elimination games for Los Angeles in 1984 and Seoul in 1988 , he came a total of five times.
Coaching career
In the 2002/2003 season Schößler was coach of the upper division VfB Leipzig, after he had previously trained the A-youth. In 2003/2004 he was in charge of SV 1919 Grimma in the same league. During the 2006/2007 season he was coach at the upper division Hallescher FC and thus the successor to his former teammate René Müller , but had to vacate his chair at the end of the season. For the 2008/09 season he was 1st full-time coach of the Lusatian A-Junior Bundesliga team at FC Energie Cottbus . From November 2010, Schößler was in charge of training for the U15 regional league team at RB Leipzig . In July 2011 he took over the U19s of the club, but resigned from office for private and professional reasons in September. In the 2017/18 season Schößler was the coach of the Saxony-Anhalt association league club VfB IMO Merseburg .
