The Deutsche BKK was a German health insurance company from the group of company health insurance funds based in Wolfsburg . It was a corporation under public law and the statutory health insurance provider . On January 1, 2017, the nationwide company health insurance company merged with Barmer GEK to form the Barmer Ersatzkasse .

history

Founding in Wolfsburg under the official name Deutsche Betriebsskrankenkasse (until December 31, 2014) by merging on January 1, 2003 of:

At that time it was the largest company health insurance fund with around 1.1 million insured persons and 1,500 employees in 45 branches. On April 1, 2005, it was divided into the BKK LVR (around 10,000 insured persons ), on April 1, 2008 the BKK Delphi (5,100 insured persons ), on October 1, 2008 the Gothaer VuD BKK (40,000 insured persons) and on January 1, 2015 the BKK Essanelle (410,000 insured persons) and then shortened her name to Deutsche BKK .

On October 20, 2015 it was announced that Barmer GEK and Deutsche BKK intend to merge. The integration was decided by the supervisory boards of both funds on November 10, 2015. On January 1, 2017, the Deutsche BKK finally merged with the new Barmer replacement fund .

Structure and finances

In addition to the headquarters of the Deutsche BKK in Wolfsburg , part of the administration was located in Stuttgart . In 2016, the Deutsche BKK had 49 branches nationwide and had around 1.1 million insured persons, including non-contributory family members, with around 1750 employees.

The budget volume in 2014 was around 2.5 billion euros.

Contribution rates

Since January 1, 2009, the contribution rates have been uniformly specified ( Section 241 SGB ​​V). From January 1, 2016, the Deutsche BKK levied an income-related additional contribution of 1.1 percent.
