The DKD HELIOS Klinik Wiesbaden (DKD), based in the Hessian state capital and spa town Wiesbaden, is a nationally recognized health center that was founded in 1970 based on the model of the Mayo Clinic in Rochester (Minnesota) , USA . The clinic relies their focus on the diagnosis of complex diseases with interdisciplinary collaboration of more than 60 specialists. She quickly found recognition thanks to her very good personnel and technical equipment and advanced examination methods. Today the clinic is also a dialysis center and one of the largest bone marrow transplant centers in Germany. There is a day clinic with 60 beds and a fully inpatient clinic with 92 beds and the areas of gynecology , urology , ENT , internal and nuclear medicine and radioiodine therapy . The beds are shown in the hospital plan of the State of Hesse.

There are also eight independent, integrated practices .

The clinic also conducts its own research work, which also shows the existence of the Society for the Promotion of Research at the DKD eV (GFF) , which is supported by the doctors.

The clinic, which treats around 47,000 patients annually, is now part of the Helios clinics .

In September 1969, a non-profit association was founded with the Society for the Promotion of Research at the German Clinic for Diagnostics eV (GFF) . The association procures and administers the funds for research at the clinic.

The GFF supports the following research:

  • Scientific research Development and application of complex forms of treatment that require interdisciplinary cooperation
  • preventive medical measures
  • Granting scholarships to highly qualified doctors for their scientific training

The association has raised and used more than 35 million euros from public research funds , so-called third - party funds from the research industry as well as donations from business and private individuals for clinical research, at the DKD.
