German Volleyball Bundesliga 1978/79 (men)

The 1978/79 season of the Volleyball Bundesliga was the fifth edition of this competition. The TuS 04 Leverkusen was German champion . Hamburg and Siegen had to relegate.

Teams

The following eight teams played in the Bundesliga this season:

TSV Bonn and CVJM Siegen (North) and TuS Stuttgart (South) were promoted from the 2nd Bundesliga.

Results

For the first time, after the main round, the teams were divided into a championship and a relegation round, each with four participants.
