history

The city of Dholpur is said to be a foundation of the Bamraolia Jats from 1004; In 1505, the then prince called the princely state of the same name into being, which overall, however, led a shadowy existence for a long time and was occupied or even annexed by various powers. After the end of the Mughal rule, the Jat prince Suraj Mal took power in 1761 , but after his early death it fell to the British on the basis of a treaty in 1779 ; on November 1, 1956, the princely state was finally dissolved.
