Claudia D'Addio aka Diamá

Claudia D'Addio (stage name since June 2009. DIAMA * 8. April 1980 in Schlieren ) is in Switzerland living singer with Italian roots.

Life

Claudia D'Addio grew up in Dietikon as the daughter of Italian immigrants from Caserta . At the age of seven she began to sing Voci Bianche (White Voices) in the church choir of her hometown .

Musical career 2013

Solo career

On July 11, 2013, Diamá released their first official single La Mossa (The Brush-Off) via Magnifique Music & Entertainment. La Mossa is a gesture that a woman makes with her hips to dump a man without words. The song reflects the singer's Italian roots. The video was shot in Italy (Caserta) and Switzerland (St. Gallen).

Musical career 2004–2012

MusicStar

In 2004 she took part in the second season of the Swiss talent show MusicStar and took third place there. The two singles Friend Forever and Here I Am emerged from the second season, both of which included Claudia D'Addio as a singer and each went to number 1 on the Swiss charts . Three albums with the titles New Generation , Thank you and Gold were also produced, in which Claudia D'Addio participated together with the other participants.

Further appearances

After the show, Claudia D'Addio toured Switzerland with the ten finalists. After the tour ended, she performed at open air festivals and the 2005 Fashion Club Tour. Claudia was invited to El Quiseir for the Subex Gala in Egypt and a few weeks later she was a guest on the official Swiss stage at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin .

Eurovision Song Contest

In 2006 Claudia D'Addio was asked by Ralph Siegel to participate in his Eurovision Song Contest 2006 project in Athens. She represented Switzerland with five other international singers. Among the band members were Andreas Lundstedt from the Swedish dance formation Alcazar , Tinka Milinović , the German singer Marco Matias , the Maltese singer Keith Camilleri and the Israeli singer Liel. The entry was named " six4one " in the sense of six singers for one country. The group reached 17th place.

Claudia D'Addio recorded two songs for the CD for the project ( Identitá and U can't stop me ). Both songs were released as an unofficial single in Switzerland. At U can not stop me LB music video was in the studios of Swiss TV filmed.

LGBT activities

In 2006 Claudia D'Addio appeared as a special guest on the Swiss “ Christopher Street Day ”, which was held in Zurich. Another appearance on Christopher Street Day Switzerland followed in 2008, for which she and Tanja La Croix and Drag Queen Donna Tella also played the official hymn Pink Riot! delivered. In November 2008 Claudia D'Addio sang at the final of the Mr. Gay Switzerland election and was on the jury of the Miss Drag Queen Switzerland election that same year. In June 2009 she appeared on the program, still on the program under her name Claudia D'Addio, with a 30-minute show act as one of the main acts at the Europride 2009, which was held in Zurich.

Further musical collaborations

She recorded the song Girls Gone Wild for DJ Scaloni . For DJ Tatana she lent her voice for the song Saltwater , which was originally produced by Chicane . She later recorded a song for the wellness product Fruit Addict . The song received a remix from DJ Tatana.

For Tanja La Croix's debut album A trip to Bikini Island , released in 2007, Claudia D'Addio wrote the songs Wet and DNA (Don't need anything) with her songwriter Jiameé and provided the vocals herself. In addition, she wrote the song Save me (feat. Jiameé) and provided the vocals for the song Horny as me .

Claudia D'Addio becomes Diamá

Since many moderators pronounce their names incorrectly, they and their management decided to use a stage name from mid-2009. We chose “Diamá”, which consists of the last three letters of Clau (dia) and the first two letters of her best friend (Ma) urizio, who died in a tragic accident in October 2008. She announced her name change on June 5, 2009 on the occasion of her appearance at Europride 2009.
