Dicrotophos is a chemical compound from the group of carboxamides and phosphoric acid esters that is used as an insecticide .
properties
Dicrotophos in technical form is a yellow-brown liquid with a mild ester-like odor that contains more than 85% dicrotophos. From a temperature of 25 - 30 ° C it begins to decompose.
use
Dicrotophos, introduced in 1956, is used as an insecticide like its metabolite Monocrotophos . Its ( E ) -isomer has a stronger effect than the ( Z ) -isomer as a cholinesterase inhibitor, which is why the majority of the industrially produced dicrotophos consists of the ( E ) -isomer.
Admission
Dicrotophos has not been included in the list of active ingredients in plant protection products approved in Europe . There is consequently no approval of a plant protection product containing dicrotophos in Germany and Austria, and no such product is approved in Switzerland either.
safety instructions
Dicrotophos is highly toxic, especially for bees and birds.
