The nieces of Frau Oberst based on a novel attributed to Guy de Maupassant (French: Les cousines de la colonelle ) is a German-Swiss-Italian erotic film that premiered on July 19, 1968 .

action

Mrs. Colonel (Kai Fischer) lives in an estate with her two nieces Julia and Florentine. Since the two girls have enjoyed each other too much, Colonel must quickly bring men into the house. The manor is a magnet for all bachelors in the immediate and wider area.

useful information

The film is considered the most successful work by Erwin C. Dietrich, with which he achieved his commercial breakthrough. It was mainly created in Dietrich's studio in Rümlang and in the Zurich area . Since the film was made as a co-production with an Italian film company, it was also shot in the port city of Cecina and in the De Paolis film studio between Milan and Parma. In order to benefit from German film funding and to identify the film as German, Dietrich shot a few scenes in the Schaffhausen customs-exempt area, which gave him the support he wanted after lengthy negotiations. The FSK initially imposed a total ban on the film and only released it after 38 editing requirements had been met.

Frau Oberst's nieces , with around 5 million viewers in the Federal Republic of Germany, was one of the most popular films in 1968, but did not receive the obligatory golden screen because Dietrich did not apply for it. The director shot a sequel in 1969, entitled Colonel’s Niece 2 - My bed is my castle . For the ten-year anniversary, the director shot a remake with the French porn actresses Karine Gambier and Brigitte Lahaie in the leading roles.

Reviews

  • Heyne Filmlexikon (1996): “ Maupassant would definitely not find the film great. "
  • Lexicon of international film : “ Allegedly based on a novel by Maupassant. Findings: sex and boredom. "
  • Protestant film observer : “A pompous porn flick based on a novel by Guy de Maupassant that has been banned for decades, as it is promisingly called, but which has about as much in common with the old master of literary eroticism as artificial fertilizer does with art. Not just to be rejected because of its redundancy! "
