Jodie Lynn lives in a small town in Texas that she finds boring. Her fiancé Kyle Richardson works in a factory that makes link chains . He often drinks too much alcohol with his friends after work. Lynn gets messages from her friend Caroline, who is making a career as a country musician in Los Angeles . Caroline tries to persuade Lynn to move to Los Angeles as well.
Lynn gives Richardson an ultimatum: he either marries her or she moves away and tries to pursue a career as a country singer in California.
