action

Just as her mother dies, the entrepreneur's wife Claudia has reasonable suspicions that her husband Michael is having an affair. So she goes alone with her son to her father Rainer on the Rhine , where the operator of the old cargo ship Fortuna is. Rainer has the ashes of his deceased wife with him and wants to scatter them with his daughter in the Rhine, according to his wife's wishes. Rainer, Claudia and their son Jonas go on a trip down the Rhine from Mainz to Cologne . Due to a technical defect, Claudia's young acquaintance Jan comes on board with his daughter Lucy, whereby Claudia and Jan get closer in the evening and Jonas and Lucy also become friends.

The next morning Michael also comes on board, who tries to convince Claudia that he has had nothing with another woman, but at the same time is jealous of Jan. After Rainer accidentally dropped the urn with his wife's ashes into the Rhine and looked for it desperately, Jonas, annoyed by his parents' argument, took off with Lucy in the dinghy to an island on the Rhine. In their search for Jonas, Claudia and Michael get closer again, they find the children on the island, where they have since found the urn.

In the end, they all scatter the ashes of Claudia's mother in the Rhine.
