Diego Vera , full name Diego Daniel Vera Méndez , (born January 5, 1985 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .
Career
societies
The 1.81 meter tall offensive player Vera was at the beginning of his career from 2004 to the end of 2006 in the ranks of the Bella Vista team . In the seasons 2004, 2005/06 and 2006/07 he came there across seasons to 32 missions in the Primera División and scored 14 goals. He then played for Nacional Montevideo until mid-January 2009 . At the "Bolsos" he hit the opposing goal five times in 31 first division appearances. In the Clausura 2009 he was part of the Defensor Sporting squad . For the Montevideans he ran in twelve first division matches (five goals) and eight games (one goal) of the Copa Libertadores 2009 . Vera returned to Nacional Montevideo in August 2009 and was eleven times (two goals) in the top Uruguayan league and three times (no goal) in the Copa Libertadores 2010 in the 2009/10 season . In the Apertura 2010 he completed 14 top division appearances as a player for Liverpool Montevideo and scored six goals. In mid-January 2011, the Chinese club Shanghai Shenxin loaned him . His performance record with the Asians made far eleven league appearances and three goals. Another loan to Deportivo Pereira followed from mid-July 2011 . Vera played 15 league games (one goal) in the Colombian jersey. Shortly after the beginning of 2012, he rejoined Liverpool Montevideo and was extremely accurate at the Montevideo club with 13 goals in 15 missions in the 2012 Clausura.
In July 2012, he was given on loan to Querétaro FC . For the Mexicans, he played 15 top division games (two goals) and two games (no goal) in the Copa México . In mid-January 2013, Vera joined Atlético de Rafaela as part of another loan deal . In addition to 44 appearances and 17 goals in the Primera División , the Argentines have one appearance (one goal) in the Copa Argentina for him. After his engagement in Rafaela ended in mid-2014, he was transferred to Estudiantes de La Plata . For the Argentine first division team he played 23 times (six goals) in the league, three times (one goal) in the national cup, six times (three goals) in the Copa Sudamericana 2014 and three times (no goal) in the Copa Libertadores 2015 . From mid-July 2015 Vera continued his career at CA Independiente . For the club from Avellaneda , he played 40 games in the top Argentinian league and scored 13 times in the opposing goal. He was also used four times (one goal) in the Copa Argentina, six times (no goal) in the Copa Sudamericana 2015 and four times (no goal) in the Copa Sudamericana 2016 . At the end of February 2017, the Club Atlético Colón signed him . So far (as of July 16, 2017) he has played 14 league games (five goals) and one cup game (no goal) for this employer.
National team
Vera made his debut on September 27, 2006 in the 0-1 defeat in the friendly against Venezuela under coach Óscar Tabarez in the Uruguayan senior team , when he came on in the 82nd minute for Sergio Blanco . On October 18 of that year, the 4-0 win against the same opponent was followed by another eight-minute short international match. He played his third and last international match on February 7, 2007 in a 3-1 away win against Colombia. Here, too, he only got three minutes of playing time. An international goal he did not succeed in these short appearances.
