Dieter Andersen

Dieter Andersen (born December 9, 1916 in Wilhelmshaven ; † June 17, 1994 in Kaliningrad ) was a German Lutheran clergyman, regional superintendent of the Lüneburg district and bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran regional church of Hanover .

Life

Andersen grew up in Hanover, where he passed the Abitur in 1935 at the Kaiser Wilhelm Gymnasium . In 1935/36 he did labor and military service. From 1936 to 1939 he studied Protestant theology in Tübingen and Erlangen . After serving in the Navy and imprisonment, he was ordained Hospes (vicar) in Loccum in August 1945 and, after passing his second theological exam, on November 17, 1946. He then took up his first pastor as a parish collaborator in Hildesheim . From 1947 to 1954 he was student pastor in Göttingen, from 1954 to 1959 pastor at St. Michaelis Church in Hildesheim, from 1959 to 1964 director of studies in Loccum and from 1964 to 1979 state superintendent in Lüneburg. In 1977 Andersen took part in the 6th General Assembly of the Lutheran World Federation in Dar-es-Salaam as a delegate of the Hanoverian regional church . In 1979 he was appointed bishop and permanent representative of regional bishop Eduard Lohse . Since 1979 he was also prior of the Loccum monastery . He retired on June 1, 1982.
