Hans-Christian Drömann

Hans-Christian Drömann (born May 31, 1932 in Hildesheim ; † June 19, 2018 there ) was a Lutheran theologian and state superintendent for the Lüneburg district of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover and abbot of the Amelungsborn monastery .

Live and act

From 1951 Hans-Christian Drömann studied theology and church music at the universities of Heidelberg , Erlangen , Tübingen and Göttingen . In 1956 he passed the first theological exam and became vicar in the Protestant student community in Göttingen .

From 1957 to 1959 Drömann attended the St. Michaelis seminary in Hildesheim and after the second theological exam took over the pastoral position of the Evangelical Lutheran parish in Brüggen (Leine) . In 1962 he received his doctorate in theology.

In 1971 Drömann became pastor of the Bockenem parish and superintendent of the Bockenem parish . In 1988 Drömann was appointed regional superintendent for the Lüneburg district of the Evangelical Lutheran regional church of Hanover . He held this office until his retirement in 1997. His successor was Hans-Hermann Jantzen .

From 1996 to 2002 Hans-Christian Drömann was the 57th abbot of the Amelungsborn monastery . He last lived in Hildesheim, his hometown.
