Dieter Buck

Dieter Buck (born November 4, 1953 in Stuttgart ) is a German author , journalist and photographer . He has written around 130 books, including numerous hiking and cycling guides , travel guides and illustrated books . He also writes for various newspapers and magazines .

Life

Dieter Buck grew up in Stuttgart. In addition to his training in finance, he has worked as a sculptor and has shown his works in numerous exhibitions. In the 1980s he ran the “smallest gallery in the world” in Stuttgart and had a ten-year teaching position for plastic design at the Stuttgart Adult Education Center. Buck is married and has a daughter, with whom he published the children's guide “Let's go, children” in 2018.

Publications

He published his first hiking tips in the Stuttgarter Zeitung . This was followed by articles in other media , u. a. Stuttgarter Nachrichten , Kreiszeitung Böblinger Bote , Eßlinger Zeitung , Südwest Presse , Beautiful Swabia, Beautiful Southwest, ALPIN, Berge, Schwaben Alpin, The Beautiful Allgäu and Adventure Alps as well as for various online magazines and blogs .

Buck's first hiking guide and illustrated book was published in 1996 by Carinthia Verlag , Klagenfurt . Around 130 books followed.
