Dieter Heckel

Dieter Heckel (born January 8, 1938 in Nördlingen , † June 9, 2016 in Kulmbach ) was a German politician ( CSU ).

Heckel graduated from high school in 1957 and then studied veterinary medicine in Munich . From 1963 to 1990 he worked as a freelance veterinarian in Kulmbach, most recently he ran a joint practice with one of his sons.

Heckel joined the CSU in 1970. He was initially chairman of a local association and deputy state chairman of the AK Police and Internal Security. In 1976 he became a district councilor in Kulmbach , two years later a city councilor in Kulmbach, of which he was group chairman for nine years. From 1984 to 1987 he was deputy district administrator in Kulmbach. From 1986 to 2003 he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament . He was always elected directly in the Kulmbach constituency. Heckel was a member of the board of directors of Sparkasse Kulmbach-Kronach for many years .

In 1998 Heckel received the Bavarian Order of Merit . Heckel died at the age of 78.
