Dinotefuran is a chemical compound from the group of nitroguanidines . The insecticide was introduced by Mitsui Chemicals in 2002 . It works by blocking the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors .

Dinotefuran belongs to the 3rd generation of neonicotinoids , among which it is the only halogen-free one.

use

Dinotefuran can be used against a wide variety of insects. Typical areas of application are fruit and vegetable cultivation, rice cultivation and pest control on lawns. Target organisms include mealybugs , mealybugs , thrips and cicadas .

The active ingredient can also be used in veterinary medicinal products against ectoparasites.
