Dirk Hansen
Dirk Hansen (born June 21, 1942 in Lüneburg ) is a German politician ( FDP ). From 1990 to 1994 he was a member of the Bundestag , from 1996 to 2000 Vice President of the Federal Agency for Civic Education .
Study and job
After graduating from high school at the Johanneum in Lüneburg in 1963, Hansen studied history and Romance studies in Hamburg , Marburg and Dijon . This was followed by an assistant position at the regional pedagogical center in Toulouse and a teaching position at the Goethe Institute there . After completing his second teaching qualification in Hamburg , he was a teacher for French , history and social studies in the Hamburg school service from 1972 .
politics
In 1972 Hansen joined the FDP, in 1976 he was elected to the Lüneburg City Council for it, of which he was a member until 1996. As chairman of the cultural committee, he played a key role in expanding the Lüneburg museum landscape. In particular, the preservation of the industrial monument Lüneburg Saltworks as the German Salt Museum was thanks to him.
In 1990 he entered the 12th German Bundestag via the Lower Saxony state list of his party, where he was active in the Enquête Commission dealing with the history and consequences of the SED dictatorship . From 1998 to 2003 he was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Federal Foundation for Coming to terms with the SED dictatorship . From March 1995 to October 2000 he was a member of the board of trustees of the " Stiftung Bundespräsident-Theodor-Heuss-Haus " in Stuttgart. From 1996 to 2000 he was Vice President of the Federal Agency for Civic Education, then he was transferred to the Ost-Akademie in his hometown of Lüneburg and headed a branch of the BpB there until the end of 2004. From 2005 to 2006 was President of the Ost-Akademie. The focus of his educational work was Germany's relations with Poland and the Baltic States as well as the German- Israeli relationship. In addition to his membership in various cultural associations, Hansen is a board member of the German-Israeli Society in Hamburg . Since November 2009 he has been a board member of the Otto von Bismarck Foundation .
