David Aaron Shayman (born September 21, 1980 in St. Louis , Missouri , † January 23, 2007 in New York ), better known as Disco D , was an American music producer.

Disco D studied in Ann Arbor , Michigan, and thus came together with the Detroit ghetto tech scene . After graduating in 2002, he moved to New York. In Williamsburg in the New York borough of Brooklyn , he began to build a ghetto tech record label with Booty Bar Records, which also included a club. In the summer of 2002 he released his first EP there: Booty Bar Anthem EP with tracks like You Need Another Drink or Keys to the Whip .

He managed to make a name for himself as a producer, so he worked with Princess Superstar in 2003 and produced remixes for 50 Cent , BG , the Lords of Acid and Da Brat .

His first mix CD was also released in 2003. A Night at the Booty Bar was a reference to Dimitri from Paris ' 2000 single A Night at the Playboy Mansion . The collaboration with Princess Superstar consisted of ironic lyrics overlaid on extremely danceable ghetto tech.

With his fiancée at the time, the Brazilian model and 1987 Playboy cover girl Luciana Vendramini , he had lived in Brazil for a long time, where he dealt with the Rio Funk . After his return he began to add other styles of music to his repertoire, in the last few years before his death Disco D also produced in dancehall and in the Baltimore club style.

He also produced the single Popozão by Kevin Federline . The American also produced music for award shows and commercials, just as he was one of the first established musicians from 2005 to produce music exclusively for mobile phone ring tones. Disco D was nominated for a Grammy while she was still alive .

On the morning of January 23, 2007, Disco D was found dead in his apartment. He presumably died by suicide . According to his own statement, Disco D had been manic-depressive for years and suffered from bipolar affective disorder . The producer was in Ann Arbor ( Michigan buried).
