The Ventanilla district is located in the constitutional province of Callao on the Pacific coast of western Peru . The district founded on January 28, 1969 has an area of 73.52 km². At the 2017 census, 315,600 people lived in the district. The district is identical to the city of Ventanilla . On May 17, 2014, an area of 2.47 km² was spun off in the northeast of the district and has since formed the Mi Perú district .
Geographical location
The Ventanilla district extends over the north of the Callao province. It has an approximately 13 km long section on the Pacific coast . The district extends almost 7 km inland, up to a ridge that runs parallel to the coast.
The Ventanilla district borders in the north on the districts Santa Rosa and Ancón (both in the province of Lima ), in the east on the districts Puente Piedra (province Lima) and Mi Perú and in the south on the districts San Martín de Porres (province Lima) and Callao .
