Military History Museum

The Callao district is located in the constitutional province of Callao on the Pacific coast of western Peru . The district has an area of ​​45.65 km². At the 2017 census, 451,260 people lived in the district. In 1993 the population was 369,768, in 2007 it was 415,888. The district and the city of Callao are congruent.

Geographical location

The Callao District extends over the southern part of the Callao Province. The Río Chillón forms the northern boundary of the district. The Río Rímac crosses the south of the district in a westerly direction. The Callao district has an approximately 17 km long section on the Pacific coast .

The Callao district is bordered to the north by the Ventanilla district and to the east by the San Martín de Porres and Lima districts (both in the Lima province ). In the southeast are the Carmen de la Legua-Reynoso and Bellavista districts and the La Punta district in the extreme southwest .
