Dmitri Anatoljewitsch Alenitschew ( Russian Дмитрий Анатольевич Аленичев ; born October 20, 1972 in Velikije Luki , Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian football player and current coach.
career
Club teams
Alenichev began his career as a professional footballer in 1991 at Lokomotiv Moscow , but switched to his favorite club in 1994, city rivals Spartak Moscow . His first international engagement took the midfielder to AS Roma in 1998 , where he only played seven league games in his second season and was then loaned to Perugia Calcio for a year .
He experienced the high point of his career between 2000 and 2004 with the Portuguese club FC Porto , with which he won the UEFA Cup ( 2002/03 ) and the UEFA Champions League ( 2003/04 ). In both finals (in Seville and in the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen ) he scored one goal each.
After the end of the 2003/04 season he was transferred back to Spartak Moscow, where he played until April 2006. After an argument with the coach of Spartak, Aleksandrs Starkovs , he was first transferred to the second team, and finally released from his contract in September.
National team
Alenichev played 55 games for the Russian national soccer team , including two games at the 2002 World Cup and three games at the 2004 European Championship . He scored six goals for his association.
