Dmitri Michailowitsch Polyanski ( Russian Дмитрий Михайлович Полянский ; born April 20, 1989 in Stary Oskol , Belgorod Oblast ) is a Russian boxer .

successes

The 1.71 m tall southpaw won the silver medal in featherweight in 2007 at the European Junior Championships in Sombor . After victories against Gouram Mirzaev from Greece (27: 5), Redouane Farahni from France (16: 9) and Azat Hovhannisyan from Armenia (25:22), he lost in the final against Bogdan Shelestyuk from Ukraine (17:23).

Internationally, he only reappeared in 2011 when he won the silver medal in bantamweight at the European Championships in Ankara , after he was defeated in the final fight against Veaceslav Gojan from Moldova (14:16). Previously, he had defeated Oualid Belaouara from France (20:10), Howhannes Batschkow from Armenia (23:10), John Joe Nevin from Ireland (13:12) and Furkan Ulaş Memiş from Turkey (18: 8).

At the European Championships in Minsk in 2013 , he won a bronze medal in the lightweight . He reached the semi-finals against Gregor Debeljak from Slovenia (3-0) and Elvin İsayev from Azerbaijan (3-0), where he was eliminated by the Ukrainian Pavlo Ishchenko (1-2). However, he defeated this 3-0 in a fight in the World Series of Boxing in April 2014 .

From 2014 to 2015 he boxed in the pro boxing department of the amateur association AIBA . He defeated Artur Bril , Domenico Valentino , David Oliver Joyce and Robson Conceição . With two defeats to the Uzbek Xurshid Tojiboyev , he missed an Olympic participation in 2016.

Polyansky is also the Russian lightweight champion in 2012, 2014 and 2015, as well as the Russian light welterweight champion in 2016.
