Xurshid Tojiboyev (also Khurshid Tadjibayev and Tajibayev ; born November 13, 1989 in Jizzax ) is an Uzbek boxer .

Career

amateur

In 2008 Tojiboyev took part in the second Asian Olympic qualification tournament in Astana and took second place here in bantamweight (up to 54 kg), with which he qualified for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing . Here he beat Rustam Rachimow , Germany (11: 2) in the first fight , and then retired in the round of 16 against the later bronze medalist Bruno Julie , Mauritius (16: 4).

At the Asian Championships 2009 in Zhuhai Tojiboyev started in the featherweight (up to 57 kg) and won the silver medal after a final defeat against Wuttichai Masuk , Thailand (12: 5). At the World Championships in the same year he was eliminated in the second fight against Mehdi Ouatine, Morocco (14: 7).

2010 Tojiboyev reached at the Asian Games in Guangzhou the semi-finals in the lightweight (up to 60 kg) and was eliminated in this against the Indian Vikas Krishan Yadav with 7-0 points, whereby he won a bronze medal.

World Series of Boxing

In the 2011/2012 season Tojiboyev played two fights for Mexico City, of which he won one. In the two following seasons he played a total of four fights for the Azerbaijan Baku Fires, of which he won two.

AIBA Pro Boxing (APB)

Since October 2014 Tojiboyev starts in the newly founded professional area "APB" of the IOC recognized world association AIBA. In the first cycle Tojiboyev was able to win against Dmitri Poljanski , Robson Conceição and Charly Suarez. In the fight for the world championship title of the APB he faced Berik Äbdirachmanow on January 30th, to whom he was defeated with 3-0 judges votes. In the second cycle Tojiboyev won against David Oliver Joyce and again against Dmitri Poljanski, so that he qualified for the second time for the title fight of the APB against Äbdirachmanow and thus also for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro .

Others

Tojiboyev's father was a school director and his mother a teacher. Until 2003 he attended a children's and youth sports school in his home country.
