Doctor Dru

Martin Druzella aka "Doctor Dru" (also known as "Martino Doncello"; * 1973 in Hamburg ) is a German music producer , musician , DJ and label owner .

Act

According to his own information, the pseudonym "Dru" is not an abbreviation of his family name Druzella, but he chose it in memory of his time as an active drummer ( English DRUmmer ). As a trained drummer, he was a band member touring with various artists, including Etta Scollo and R. Kelly . He broke his arms in a skateboard accident, had to stop playing the drums for the time being and concentrated on mixing with an Atari home and a drum computer .

For the soundtrack (2001) to Lars Becker's film Kanak Attack (2000) he played drums and programmed the titles Kemals Tod and Kanak Attack Theme . Among other things, he produced, mixed or arranged for Ben the songs The love of my tears , Friends for life , Whenever the wind blows , Do not let me doubt and sometimes . Cassandra Steen's song Therefore we live, he programmed together with Frank Sieben. He also produced for Bootsy Collins . He wrote the music for the advertising clip, which was awarded silver at the PR film festival KLAPPE 2012 , Check your profile before others do it (2011) of the Hamburg / Schleswig-Holstein media authority . After producing several nationally recognized pop acts, he deepened his interest in electronic music . Together with the duo Adana Twins , he produced the club hit Juicy Fruit . His debut track Ohh Gosh! made it into the top 5 of the dance charts. With the release of the song The Voice of Dru in 2011, he produced a worldwide hit in deep house. The track made it into the top 10 Beatport charts and reached first place in the Deephouse category. Christoph Neder announced Doctor Dru in April 2013 on afk M94.5 for the “Bock am Inn” open air festival in Töging am Inn with the description: “… Doctor Dru from the celebrated Exploited label was also hard to miss last year. His hit 'The Voice Of Dru' can still be found in countless DJ playlists ". As a DJ he spins around the world in the genres of house , electronic , deep house and techno . Hakan Andreas Soyka shot the video for Foolish . Faze Magazine describes the style of his track The Grain , which was published on EP in 2015, as "multi-layered, dramatic and definitely peaktime compatible". His previous tracks have appeared on the labels Stil vor Talent , OFF Recordings, Exploited Records and Jeudi Records .

In addition to his musical activities, he runs the music label Jeudi Records, which he founded in 2010 with his friends Davidé, Benni and Friso from the area around the Hamburg Baalsaal. For this purpose he organizes his own international label parties u. a. in Amsterdam , Barcelona , Miami , Istanbul and Berlin .
